SHOPPERS and motorists are experiencing lengthy delays near a Colchester retail park, with some reporting they have been stuck in queues for hours.
Asda customers have told the Gazette they are struggling to vacate the supermarket's car park after congestion built-up in and around the Turner Rise Retail Park.
According to shoppers and drivers alike, huge queues have traffic leading up to the North Station roundabout have brought the area to a standstill.
A shopper, who tried to leave the retail park for one and a half hours, said people are left in the dark.
They said: "Many families have left their cars on the road as the queue doesn't move.
"Some, I think, might worry as it's really hot outside and that heats up the cars really fast."
According to the AA, the congestion is a result of roadworks and a lane closure near the retail park.
The AA Traffic report said: "Slow traffic on A134 Southbound from Wallace Road to North Station Roundabout.
"Travel time is expected to last around 10 minutes at the current construction area.
"A lane closure is in operation."
