AHEAD of the opening of an all-new bubble tea café in Colchester, the Gazette has been given an exclusive first look at the menu items on offer.
Milksha, set to open next month, will open the doors of its UK headquarters and research and development lab on Head Street, at an iconic site that dates back to 1698.
In addition to the expansive drinks menu, Colchester residents will be able to enjoy fresh, hand-crafted cakes, all baked from scratch, as well as Japanese inspired ice-cream.
Milksha is a Taiwanese bubble tea and milkshake giant with more than 350 stores around the world.
The bubble tea brand has given the Gazette an exclusive first look at the popular menu items that will be on offer for Colchester residents to try.
The Ruhana Milk Tea with Honey Pearls is one of the brand’s top sellers, with Ruhana black tea and fresh milk and honey pearls.
The Brown Sugar Milk with Honey Pearls is created onsite, with staff hand cooking the brown sugar base and chewy honey pearls.
The Orange Green Tea is one of the brand’s top sellers, with 100 per cent Taiwanese orange juice and orange pulp, blended with green tea.
Japanese Matcha Milk with Red Beans is popular among milk lovers, with Japanese matcha and fresh milk blended together along sweet red beans.
The Basque Lava Cake is a cheesecake baked at a high temperature, forming a caramelised exterior that serves as a natural crust, which encompasses the entire cheesecake whilst protecting the creamy interior. The dessert is hand-crafted and baked onsite.
Set to open next month, the menu will be divided into several categories, meaning even those who have never tried bubble tea before can navigate the wide selection of treats on offer.
A fully customised service will enable diners to choose their addition of fresh toppings to any beverage, either hot or cold, including adjusting the levels of ice and sugar to taste.
To celebrate the opening on Saturday, May 13, residents will be treated to an exciting ceremonious event, with the first 100 customers treated to half price drinks on their order.
