A NUISANCE driver who tailgated and flashed his headlights at drivers on the A12 has been banned from the roads for six months.
Jamal Larocque, 30, was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Crossland X on the Ipswich-bound A12 between Hatfield Peverel and Colchester when the incident took place.
Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard he tailgated vehicles and flashed his headlights at them in a bid to force them to move aside on July 6 last year.
If they did not do as he demanded, Larocque would then undertake them in the nearside lane before cutting back in front and continuing.
A report served to the magistrates during the hearing said the motorist’s actions showed “complete disregard to the safety of all other road users”.
Larocque, of Chichester Road, Leystonstone, denied driving without due care and attention but was convicted following a trial.
He was banned from driving by magistrates.
Larocque must also pay a £400 fine, £40 surcharge and was handed a £650 bill to be paid to the Crown Prosecution Service for its costs.
