A BUSY stretch of road in Colchester is set to close for 24 nights while carriageway works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
The closure, which will be in place between 10pm and 6am, is due to start on May 22.
The order will close Elmstead Road between its junction with the Greenstead roundabout and the Elmstead Road roundabout.
Other roads in north and mid Essex are also due to close to allow for works to be completed.
Three Colchester roads are due to close for 12 days while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
The closures will be in place at the junctions of Beverley Road, Cambridge Road, and Queens Road, and are scheduled to start on May 22.
Carriageway patching works will close Ipswich Road, Colchester, for six days from May 26.
It will affect approximately 50 metres of road from the junction with Lancaster Approach in a south-westerly direction.
Ashbury Drive, Marks Tey, will be closed for approximately 50 metres from its junction with Bury Close to its junction with Coggeshall Road.
The 18-day closure will begin on May 9 and is a result of pipe replacement works undertaken by Anglian Water.
In West Mersea, East Mersea Road will be closed from its junction with The Strood to its junction with Dawes Lane – around 800 metres – for five days from May 12.
This is to allow for Essex County Council to undertake carriageway patching works.
