Head coach's view

Colchester boss Ben Garner on Doncaster clash:

“They’ve got good players within their squad.

“A lot of their games I’ve been watching recently have been very close.

“It hasn’t even been spells of pressure sometimes, from opposition teams.

“It’s just been a lapse in concentration or a mistake that’s cost them.

Gazette:

“They’ve got some technically good players, they try and play, they stick to what they’re doing which is fantastic but for me, the focus is very much on us and making sure that our level is right and our performance is right and if we do that, we can obviously go there and win the game and keep this good run going.

“It’s always a difficult one with a team that’s been on that type of run, because they’ve striving to turn it around.

“There’s obviously a hunger there to do so and there’s no team or player that doesn’t want to win.

“Everyone wants to win and I think it’s always a very dangerous animal when you’re playing a team like that.

“But it’s very much about what we need to do, what levels we need to hit, how we’re going to set up for this game and let’s focus on getting that right.

“Nine times out of ten, if you do get all of those things right, hopefully that will lead to the result that you want."

Key battle

Samson Tovide is set to face Doncaster again, having scored his first professional goal against the same opponents, last November.

Gazette:

The U's teenage striker is set to come up against centre-back Ro-Shaun Williams, who will be hoping to help his side turn their form around after a nine-match winless run.

Last meeting

Colchester ran out 3-0 winners when they last face Doncaster, last November.

Goals from Alex Newby, Samson Tovide and Luke Hannant sealed a comfortable victory for Matt Bloomfield's side, at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Opposition view

Doncaster boss Danny Schofield told the club's website:

“Every game is just as important as every one. Even though it doesn’t look like you’re playing for anything, you are. You’re playing for the supporters, the football club, your careers and to be the best you can be in whatever situation that’s in.

“I know it’s difficult. It’s difficult for everyone at the minute with the form not where it should be and the performances are not where we want them to be. When you go through these difficult periods, we try to create this togetherness to take us through these moments together."

Referee

Sunny Singh Gill is the man in the middle today.

He has presided over 29 games so far this season, showing 115 yellow cards and three reds.
