JAYDEN Fevrier has been praised after making his first-ever professional league start.
The 20-year-old winger was handed his maiden league start for Colchester United in their 2-0 home defeat to Mansfield Town, on Monday.
Fevrier was named in Ben Garner's starting line-up, having previously made 11 appearances for the U's since joining them at the end of last year following his release by West Ham United.
The youngster looked lively on the right wing for Colchester after playing 82 minutes, against the Stags.
U's boss Garner said: "I thought it was a really strong debut for him.
"The next level now for Jayden is the final ball, the final product because he gets there regularly, he's confident, he can go both ways.
"I think he's going to be a good asset for us moving forward into next season."
