A POPULAR family fun day, which aims to fund radio hospital to make patients stay in the hospital a bit more enjoyable, is set to return this month.
Final preparations are underway for this year’s Hospital Radio Colchester Fun Day, which will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29, in Lower Castle Park in Colchester.
The fun day is a major fundraiser for Hospital Radio Colchester and has been a regular event for many years.
This year, the event will carry a special significance as the charity is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary of the service, which was started in 1963 by members of the Colchester United supporters club.

"This is our main fundraising event of the year and we are really looking forward to welcoming a large crowd for the event, with our fingers crossed for some good weather on the day.
"Our aim is to provide a great value day out for all the family and this year we have plenty of things to do and see for all the family.
"It’s always great to see the park packed with families from Colchester and the surrounding area."
Staffed entirely by volunteers, Hospital Radio Colchester broadcasts to patients, staff and visitors at Colchester Hospital.
