A temporary speed limit on the Orwell Bridge outside Ipswich that was put in place after a serious crash is expected to remain in place for at least another week.
The crash happened as emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the eastbound carriageway of the A14 on the bridge just after 11am on Tuesday, May 9.
According to Suffolk police, the crash involved a lorry and a car.
The lorry crossed the central reservation from westbound to eastbound, forcing the road to be closed in both directions.
At about 2pm that day, one lane on each carriageway reopened but lane two remained closed while repairs to the central reservation took place.
A temporary speed limit has been put in place while repair works are carried out.
This is expected to stay in place for at least two weeks, a spokesman for National Highways has now confirmed.
The spokesman said: "For the safety of those using the bridge, the temporary speed restriction will remain in place until the central reservation can be permanently repaired.
"Due to the complexity of the repair and the need for specific materials, our contractors have indicated this could take up two weeks.
"We appreciate the patience of road users who are travelling over the bridge during this time."
