HOMES in mid Essex could be left without power for up to three-and-a-half hours tonight.
The outage comes as part of planned engineering works by UK Power Networks.
Power will be switched off in the CO9 2 postcode area at 11pm tonight and is expected to return between 1.30am and 2.30am tomorrow.
The affected properties in Halstead, Little Maplestead, Great Maplestead, Pebmarsh, and Wickham St Pauls will have been notified in advance.

A statement on the UK Power Networks website says: “We're carrying out planned work in your area.
“For our engineers to carry it out safely they need to turn the power off. We're doing this work as it's essential to provide reliable electricity supplies to your area.
“We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.”
