A MUSIC icon visited a pub in a small Colchester village over the weekend after a historic homecoming concert which will be spoke about for years to come.
Blur's Colchester Arts Centre show on Friday left the 400-or-so music revellers in a glorious heap at the end of the evening.
But one of the band members found a way of unwinding following the show by stopping off at a favourite country pub ahead of group's next concert.
Damon Albarn, who studied at Stanway School in Colchester before rising to fame in the 90s, visited The Swan Inn, in Chappel.
Incidentally, the pub is not far away from the East Anglian Railway Museum where Blur staged their last performance near Colchester back in 2009.
A statement published online by The Swan Inn reads: “We were pleased to serve Damon Albarn from Blur over the weekend at The Swan Inn after their performance in Colchester.”
The social media post also includes a photo showing two members of staff posing with the rock icon.
Blur’s first overseas concert as part of their european tour will take place in Barcelona next Thursday before they perform in Portugal later in June.
