A12 roadworks have overrun this morning causing delays for commuters.
According to Essex Travel News, traffic is slow moving on the A12 between Junction 29 (Crown Interchange) and Junction 28 (Football Stadium).
One commuter told the Gazette the A12 was still down to one lane near the football stadium shortly before 8am.
The roadworks, which were meant to be fully lifted at 5am, had closed the A12 in both directions from Junction 29 to Junction 27 from 9pm yesterday evening whilst National Highways carried out fence repair works.
It is understood a burst water main on the A12 is also contributing to the delays.
The overrunning roadworks have meant delays across Colchester this morning.
Queues are back to Langham on the Colchester bound A12 with queues also back to Elmstead on the A120.
There are long queues on Ipswich Road and Via Urbis Romane.
