A MOTHER diagnosed with inoperable bowel cancer hopes to be able to have revolutionary immunotherapy to save her life.

Ellie Peart, also known as Electra, has four young children aged between two and six years old.

She went through a year of chemotherapy treatment starting just before Christmas in December 2021.

After 12-hour surgery to remove the cancer, she was told it had sadly returned and her only option is to continue chemotherapy until it stops working.

She hopes with funding she will be able to go to Japan for immunotherapy treatment to increase her chances of a longer life.

Her friend Kara Freeman, who works at Fiducia, has already taken part in a Tandem Skydive with co-owner Susie Law searlier this year, which raised more than £2,300.

They have now organised their next fundraiser, with support from businesses in the area.

A total of 12 businesses in Colchester will be taking part in a seven-a-side competition to raise money for her treatment.

A total of £2,000 has already been raised by team registration costs and the organisers, Fiducia have a goal of raising a total of £4,000.

The money raised will go towards Ellie’s treatment in Japan.

The teams include members from Ellisons, Birkett Long, Holmes and Hills and Scrutton Bland.

Groups will be playing against each other at Powerleague Colchester at St Helena School before knock out rounds.

A spokesman for Fiducia, which is organising the event, said: “Immunotherapy is the future of cancer treatment, the UK though, sadly are years behind, and Ellie does not have years to wait.

“Immunotherapy however still isn’t a complete cure, but it is the best chance she has for as long as possible with her children.

“Ellie refuses to die, she simply can’t, her babies are too young and too precious for her to leave them.

“With your help, and your support, you can make a difference. Any donations made will count towards Ellie's treatment and allow her children a better chance of more time with their Mummy.”

The event is on Thursday, June 1 from 3pm to 6pm.
