A BANK, which is set to close next month, will aim to open a 'pop-up' branch to help residents get access to financial support.
The Barclays branch, in Yorick Road, West Mersea, is set to serve its final customer on Tuesday, June 13, as Barclays prepares to shut 14 more branches across the country.
To support the residents, Barclays is set to open a pop-up branch, within walking distance from the closing branch, on June 21, which will be open three days a week.
A spokesman from Barclays said: "For our customers in West Mersea, from June 21, we will be opening our new Barclays Local site, which will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

"This will be based just a short distance from the closing branch at Mersea Island Community Association on High Street.
"We will be offering face-to-face financial support and education for customers, without the need for them to travel.
"Customers visiting us at the community centre will be able to access a wide range of services including financial reviews, balance requests, change of address, opening of some accounts and have support with digital banking.
"You can find all of our national sites by typing in your postcode to our branch finder barclays.co.uk/branch-finder."
