COLCHESTER United are busy putting plans in place for new signings, this summer.

The U’s are plotting to bring in additions to their squad, with the transfer window opening later this month.

Colchester’s League Two rivals have also been busy ahead of the window opening, with some making some early captures.

Here are ten signings in the division that have caught the eye, over recent days.

Danny Rose – Grimsby from Stevenage

Striker Rose has linked up with Grimsby Town on a two-year deal.

The 29-year-old helped Stevenage to promotion to League One last season, scoring nine times in 52 appearances.

The former Barnsley youngster has joined the Mariners for an undisclosed five-figure fee.

Kristian Dennis – Tranmere from Carlisle

Dennis turned down the offer of a new contract at Carlisle United to sign for Tranmere Rovers on a two-year deal.

Dennis, 33, last month helped the Cumbrians win promotion to League One at Wembley and scored 23 times in 65 appearances for the club.

Clarke Oduor – Bradford from Barnsley

Bradford have wasted no time adding to their squad following the disappointment of losing out in the play-offs, snapping up wing-back Oduor.

He has joined the Bantams on a three-year contract, after being released by League One side Barnsley.

The 23-year-old spent time on loan at Hartlepool United last season, scoring once in 14 appearances.

 

Josh Neufville - AFC Wimbledon from Luton

Neufville has linked up with the Dons, following his release by Premier League-bound Luton Town.

The 22-year-old forward is no stranger to League Two having spent time on loan this season at Sutton United, where he scored twice in 35 appearances.

Alex Gilbey – MK Dons from Charlton

Former Colchester midfielder Gilbey has returned to MK Dons for a second spell, fresh from helping Stevenage secure promotion to League One.

The 28-year-old, who twice won the Dons' Player of the Year award, will officially join when his contract with Charlton Athletic expires at the end of the month.

Gilbey first moved to MK Dons in 2017, playing 105 games and scoring 11 goals in his three years at Stadium MK.

Calum MacDonald – Bristol Rovers to Mansfield

Left-back MacDonald has linked up with Mansfield Town, who just missed out on a play-off place this season.

The 25-year-old has joined the Stags on a two-year deal following his release from League One side Bristol Rovers.

Macdonald MacDonald has also played for the likes of Stockport County, Tranmere Rovers, Derby County, Blackpool and Barrow.

Jake Reeves – AFC Wimbledon from Stevenage

Johnnie Jackson’s Dons made their first signing of the summer when they snapped up Jake Reeves from Stevenage last month.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who links up with the Dons for the third time in his career, has joined the South London outfit on a two-year deal.

Reeves scored four goals in 50 appearances for Stevenage this season, helping them win promotion to League One.

 

Richard Wood – Doncaster from Rotherham

Veteran Wood has linked up with Doncaster Rovers on a one-year deal, following his release by Championship outfit Rotherham United.

Centre-back Wood, 37, has more than 500 league appearances under his belt and spent the past nine seasons with the Millers.

Will Swan – Mansfield from Nottingham Forest

Swan became one of this summer’s first signings in League Two after linking up with Mansfield on a permanent basis.

He has joined the Stags for an undisclosed fee from Nottingham Forest, having enjoyed a productive loan spell with Nigel Clough’s side this season.

Swan, who has signed a three-year contract, was Mansfield’s top scorer this season with ten goals.

The 22-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Stags, with the option of a further year.

 

David Worrall – Barrow from Port Vale

Veteran Worrall has swapped League One for League Two after agreeing to join Barrow.

The 32-year-old former Southend United winger has signed for the Bluebirds on a free transfer, after spending six years at Vale Park.

Worrall has signed a two-year deal at Holker Street.
