AN alcohol thief has been ordered to repay the cost of booze he stole in Colchester.
Ryan Thirlwell, 34, snatched three small bottles of wine worth a total of £11.97 from a shop on April 30.
Three days later he returned to the same shop and stole a bottle of Yellow Tail rose worth £8.29.
Thirlwell was charged with two offences of theft from a shop and admitted them when he appeared before Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.
The defendant was ordered to pay £20.26 in compensation to the shopkeeper and was fined £120.
