A FORMER Colchester schoolgirl turned multi-platinum singer-songwriter will be returning to the city as part of a UK tour.

Fiona Bevan is a Canadian-British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Essex, who played her first gigs at the former Oliver Twist pub in Colchester.

The talented musician, who went to high school in Colchester, is now preparing to return to the place where it all started.

On June 20, she will take to the stage for a sold-out gig at Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street.

She will dazzle the crowd with her sweet, fiery voice and a soulful, cinematic and indie folk sound.

She is also expected to perform tracks from her self-produced forthcoming EP Girl with Telescope, which she has been teasing in recent months.

Fiona has previously penned hits for Lewis Capaldi and Kylie Minogue, and she also co-wrote One Direction’s Little Things alongside Ed Sheeran.

Fiona is touring the UK throughout the spring and summer with Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist Adam Beattie who has just released his fifth solo album to critical acclaim.

Adam has previously collaborated with other well-known musicians including Birdy and Lulu.
