A COLCHESTER restaurant chain is to close its doors for more than a week at the beginning of next month to undergo a makeover.
Pizza Express has put a sign in its front window informing customers it will close from July 3 until July 10.
The popular eatery, which has been in St Runwald Street for more than 30 years, will reopen as normal on July 11.
The announcement of the closure comes after plans were approved by Colchester Council for the chain to install two sets of illuminated signs.
A spokesman for Pizza Express said: "To continue offering a lively and uplifting dining destination, PizzaExpress Colchester in St Runwald Street will be closed briefly from 3rd to 11th July 2023 to undergo a makeover.
"With views over Colchester’s historic Dutch Quarter, following its reopening, the restaurant will be the perfect setting for dinner & drinks this summer."
