A MAJOR road near Colchester has been reopened following a crash.
The A12 Londonbound saw all lanes closed between Junction 27, Spring Lane/A133 and Junction 26, Eight Ash Green/A1124.
Essex Police officers were called to reports of a collision at about 1.25pm today.
Officers say two cars, two vans and a lorry had reportedly collided, blocking all three lanes of the road.
Long delays were in place, with queues back six miles to Junction 29 for Ardleigh.
The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed one woman was taken to hospital following the crash.
A spokesperson said: "One ambulance and one ambulance officer vehicle were called to a road traffic collision on the A12 near Stanway, Colchester this afternoon.
"Four patients were assessed at the scene and one woman was transported to Colchester General Hospital for further assessment and care."
Essex Police also confirmed this, adding the woman's injures are "not believed to be life-threatening or life changing."
One lane of the road was reopened at about 1.55pm, and all lanes had been reopened at about 2.50pm.
Traffic remained heavy for some time shortly after.
A police spokesman added: "If you have any information or dash cam footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
"Please quote incident 623 of Thursday, July 13."
