WITH Wimbledon coming to an end, many of us have been left feeling inspired to get ourselves back on the court this summer.
There are many tennis clubs open to members and non-members in and around Colchester.
Here are some of the best tennis facilities which can be booked in the city.
Leisure World
The leisure facility has multiple sites across Colchester, all with tennis courts available to hire.
Leisure World in Highwoods, Tiptree, Colchester and the tennis centre in Eudo Road are all available for hire from £6.95.
The Leisure World Tennis Centre is a popular spot with six floodlit tarmac courts to play on.
Equipment hire is unavailable at the tennis centre so visitors will have to bring their own tennis balls and rackets.
Slots can be booked online at the Leisure World website.
Spring Lane Tennis Club
The tennis club in The Chase Way, Spring Lane, Colchester is open for both members and non-members.
The courts are open from 9am to 8pm on weekdays and from 9am to 5pm on weekends.
To make a booking, visitors can go to the ClubSpark Booker app.
Members' courts are free if all players are non-members with a guest fee of £4 per court if non-members are playing on a member’s court booking.
Non-members can also hire tennis courts for £7.50 per hour.
The club also runs a coaching site for all ages and abilities which can be found at makingaces.co.uk.
Lexden Hill Lawn Tennis Club
The membership club uses the grass courts at West End Sports Ground in Eudo Road from May to September.
Members are involved in club sessions and tournaments with other clubs during the summer months.
