POLICE are set to destroy a woman’s bike handlebars after she used them as a weapon.
Martine Chaplin, 57, used the handlebars in a threatening way in Affleck Road, Colchester, on May 31.
During the same incident, she assaulted a man and used abusive language against him.
Chaplin, of Affleck Road, Colchester, admitted possession of a weapon, common assault and using abusive language when she appeared before Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
The defendant was ordered to pay £385 in a fine, costs and surcharge.
An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the handlebars.
