TWO roads in Colchester are set for closure for nearly two months.

Lengths of both Boxted Road and Whitmore Drive will be closing on August 14 for 57 days.

Boxted Road will shut from a point north east of its junction with Whitmore Drive in a south westerly direction.

Whitmore Drive will shut from its junction with Boxted Road in a north easterly direction.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while construction works are undertaken by Wormald Burrows Partnership Limited.

Elsewhere, several other roads in and around Colchester are set for upcoming closures.

  • On July 31, Morten Road will shut from its junction with North Station Road in a westerly direction.

The closure will last for five days while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

  • Drivers should also be aware as Queens Road in Wivenhoe is to close.

The road will shut from its junction with Park Road in a north westerly direction.

The closure, which is scheduled on August 1 for two days, is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial reinstatement works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

  • One day later on August 2, in Colchester, Balkerne Passage is due to shut from its junction with North Hill in a westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled for three days while fire hydrant repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

  • Another three day closure is coming for Ambrose Avenue, in Colchester.

The closure is scheduled to commence August 16.

It will be from a point west of its junction with Rudsdale Way in a westerly direction and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

In the Braintree district, multiple roads are set for lengthy closures.

  • Firstly, on July 31, Blackmore End in Wethersfield will close from a point south east of its junction with Lower Green in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled for 12 days while culvert strengthening works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • On August 2, two roads closures are coming.

In Cressing, Church Road will shut from its junction with Polecat Road to its junction with Shardloes Lane.

The 13-day closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Elsewhere, in Stisted, Brook Farm Road will close from a point north east of the junction with Woodhouse Farm Road in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled for seven days and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • Lastly, on August 14, a week-long closure is coming for a length of Wickham Bishops Road in Hatfield Peverel.

The closure will be from a point west of its junction with Hatfield Road in a westerly direction.

It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

  • In the Maldon district, a week-long closure is coming for Blind Lane in Tolleshunt Knights.

It will be shutting on August 16 from a point north east of its junction with Oxley Hill in a north easterly direction.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal & reinstatement works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
