A NEW date for a postponed festival has been confirmed after it was cancelled due to a stormy weather forecast.
The Little Scarlet Festival, in Tiptree, will be held later in the year after safety concerns led to the cancellation of the event last Saturday, July 15.
The new date for the anticipated event has been confirmed as Saturday, September 2.
Live music, bars, food and drinks and more are still promised for the new date.
The organisers made the decision to protect attendees, performers and staff from potential risks caused by the unpredictable weather.
A spokesman for Wilkin and Sons said: “Due to the stormy weather forecast, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our Little Scarlet Festival.
“The safety and well-being of our attendees, performers, and staff members are of paramount importance to us, and we cannot in good conscience put that at risk.
“Gusty winds pose significant risks, from falling objects and unstable structures to compromised stage equipment.
“Despite our team's best efforts to mitigate these risks, the unpredictable nature of the winds has made it impossible to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
“If you would like to receive a refund, please take your wristband to where it was purchased from, either the Jam Shop or Millins the Butcher by Monday, July 31.”
