THE team promising to make Colchester city centre “a great place to live, work, and visit” has secured a second term to implement its vision.
For the last five years the Our Colchester business improvement district (BID) has supported businesses in the city centre.
In a ballot, which closed in July, 85 per cent of the businesses which chose to have their say voted to keep the BID in place for another five years to deliver business support and projects.
BID manager Sam Good said: “Being a key contact and champion for businesses in the city centre has helped our businesses not only survive but thrive in the face of adversity.
“In the next five years we will continue this support and introduce new projects decided through consultation with our businesses to bring even further benefits to the city centre.
“Thank you to all the BID businesses who supported us in the recent renewal ballot. We look forward to working with you over the next BID term.”
Looking ahead to the future, Mr Good added: “We have some wonderful projects still to deliver for 2023 including the Soapbox Rally, Colchester Women in Business, and the Christmas light switch on.”
