A COMMUNITY initiative will host a celebratory event today to mark its recent launch in two Tendring towns.
Essex Pedal Power is holding a very special event at the Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre after the scheme kicked off in Harwich and Dovercourt.
Throughout the day there will be fun games and activities, as well as a community picnic for all residents and families.
The Essex Pedal Power organisation aims to increase the amount of people who participate in active travel and physical fitness levels.
Bikes are provided on a six month loan basis, with recipients able to keep the bike if they use it regularly enough throughout the loan period.
Carina Nea, Essex Pedal Power's Harwich and Dovercourt coordinator, has previously said: "It’s building those community connections and providing residents with opportunities, a sense of belonging and a new lease of life."
