Officers on foot patrol in Greenstead were welcomed by one of the estate's famous furry friends.
Lord Nelson, known affectionately by locals as 'lion dog', had a go at patrolling the estate.
PC Kearley had the pleasure of posing next to the much-loved pup.
A police spokesperson said: "Lord Nelson tried some high visibility patrol but preferred to go about his daily business."
The officers were conducting disruption patrols centred around antisocial behaviour over the weekend under Operation Dial.
PC Michael Kearley, the officer who has the pleasure of meeting Lord Nelson, speaks on what a patrol is like: "Patrols don’t just mean officers walking around an area, it’s about engaging with people, getting to know our communities and ultimately helping them if and when they need us.
"Often, on those patrols we won’t just meet people, we’ll also meet their pets too."
He continues to speak on Lord Nelson, the dog himself:
"So many of us are dog lovers and we couldn’t let the chance to meet Lord Nelson pass us by.
"We understand that Lord Nelson is a popular figure within the local community and often spreads positivity to local residents when he's out on his walks like the good boy he is.
Meeting him was a pleasure and he certainly put a smile on our faces."
