A MAN who suffered from stab wounds is no longer in a critical condition and his condition is described as stable.

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with stab wounds after an incident on Tuesday, July 11, at about 3.20pm in Maypole Road, Tiptree.

Essex Police said the man has now been discharged from hospital and is now in a stable condition.

A 59-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Det Insp Alison Hooper, who is leading the investigation said: “This charge could only be made with the efforts of my colleagues across the police force, making sure the facts of this incident were established as quickly as possible.

“I’d like to thank my colleagues for all their hard work. I would also like to thank the members of the public that witnessed the incident, helped the victim and have supported our investigation.”

An investigation into the incident which occurred in public remains ongoing.
