TWO live music venues are banding together to help raise money for a germ cell cancer charity by hosting an all-day music extravaganza.
Three Wise Monkeys and Roots & Grooves, in Colchester, are set to host a collaborative multi-venue event to raise money for the Robin Cancer Trust.
The non-profit organisation was launched in memory of Rob Freeman, who died from a rare form of testicular cancer aged just 24.
It is dedicated to helping save lives by raising awareness of ovarian and testicular cancers, and also offers support to newly diagnosed patients and strives to create meaningful connections between cancer survivors and patients.
The music all-dayer will kick off at 12pm, with an incredible line-up of local artists and DJs gracing the outside stage in St. Nicholas Square, which will be closed to motorists during the event.
Said acts performing include Georgie Roots, 53 Kings, Liam Fitzgerald, Vix & the Bleeding Hearts, Carl Ellis, Punch it Chewie! and many more.
There will also be a pop-up bar, BBQ street food and beer from Other Monkey Brewing, which is situated next to Three Wise Monkeys.
Alan Jones, venue manager at Three Wise Monkeys, said: "We are thrilled to announce our upcoming street party on August bank holiday Sunday, in partnership with Roots & Grooves.
"This incredible event aims to raise money for the Robin Cancer Trust and promises to be a day of non-stop fun and entertainment."
Musical acts will play outdoors until 6pm before the entertainment continues inside.
Roots & Grooves, for example, will play host to Tony Wilson, Cyberdog, Deep St. and Padwerk late in to the night.
Three Wise Monkeys' top floor acts, meanwhile, include Lianne Kaye, Fraser Morgan, Red Matter, Tyler Baker and Lost Movies.
"Mark your calendars and join us for a day of great music, delicious food, and good vibes," added Alan.
"Let's come together to support a worthy cause and have a blast while doing so."
The event is free, however, there is a suggested donation of £5.
