DRIVERS will face disruption for up to ten months to allow for the completion of roadworks on some Essex roads.

Junction 21 of the A12, the Witham South turning, is scheduled to close in both directions for 316 nights from September 21 while National Highways carries out highway improvements. The slip roads will be closed between 9pm and 6am and there will be a 40mph speed restriction in place outside of these hours.

Cadent gas main replacement works will close The Green and The Path, Great Bentley, from their junctions with Thorrington Road for 54 days from September 4. No alternative route will be available.

Railway Street, Braintree, will be closed for eight days from September 18 from its junction with Coggeshall Road heading south for 35m. This is while UK Power Networks completes maintenance works.

Stratford Road, Dedham, will be closed for three days from September 6 from Colchester Road for more than a kilometre heading north west. The closure is to allow Essex County Council to undertake fencing and guardrail works.

Hilltop Crescent, Weeley, will be closed from The Street to Mount Pleasant for six days from September 7 while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Carriageway patching works will also close Oxford Road, Colchester, from Maldon Road to Lexden Road for five days from September 4.

Cowdray Avenue, Colchester, will be closed for five days from September 4 while UK Power Network completes maintenance works. The closure will start about 440m south east of its junction with Mason Road for about 25m.

Apprentice Drive, Colchester, will be closed between Fan Avenue and Turbine Road for five days from September 21 while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Dawes Lane, West Mersea, will be closed from a point 215m north west of its junction with East Road for about 20m for three days from September 20 while new supply works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

High Street North, West Mersea, will be closed on the same dates for 20m in each direction from Mersea Avenue while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

Constantine Road, Colchester, will be closed between Butt Road and Maldon Road for three days from September 6 while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Church Lane, Braintree, will be closed for four nights, between 10pm and 5am, from September 18. The closure, between Bradford Street and Church Street, is to allow Essex County Council to complete carriageway patching works.

Mill Road, Great Bardfield, will be closed from about 190m north east of Mill Close for about 40m for three days from September 18 while Anglian Water complete stop tap replacements.

A one way system will be temporarily introduced in Downs Road, Maldon, from Victoria Road for about 85m heading north east. This will be in place for 26 days from September 4 while the county council completes structure repair works.
