A SPEEDING driver caught on a busy road has been banned from getting behind the wheel.
Paul Mooney, 43, was snapped speeding in Cowdray Avenue on September 9 last year.
He was driving a Mercedes at 8.11pm when he was caught driving at 55mph in the 40mph speed limit.
The offence was proved via the single justice procedure at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
Mooney, of Bergholt Road, Colchester, was disqualified from driving for six months and will have to resit his driving test following this period.
He was ordered to pay £276 in a fine, surcharge and costs to the court.
