FINDING a hair salon which cuts and colours your hair just the way you like it can be quite a difficult task.
Hours can be spent scouring the internet for reviews and talking to friends, colleagues and family members about the best hairdressers... and the ones to avoid.
As someone who is not afraid to lose a few inches of hair (because it will grow back eventually) trying a new salon, however, is not something I consider a nightmare.
Not least when it results in a great new look.
I had the opportunity to visit Tracie Webb’s Fatal Attraction salon in Colchester High Street, where American celebrity stylist Jack Winn recently taught a rather complex blonding technique called Balayage.
My appointment was set for 6pm, giving me plenty of time to make my way to the salon.
I did not mind the wait, since I arrived earlier than scheduled, and, as we know, perfection cannot be rushed.
After a quick hair wash, Tracie took it into her own hands to give me a makeover.
She lives and breathes hairstyles, that is for sure.
From the initial consultation to the final cut, I felt in safe hands, considering I had never been to the salon before.
Tracie has been in the business for more than 30 years and ‘fatal attraction’ has set trends for more than two decades.
Being able to run a small business which defies pandemics and inflation is a testament to their good work, care for customers and returned appreciation from the community.
After losing a few good inches of hair, I had exactly what I wanted - a new, fresh cut with a great experience.
Tracie’s trained eyes and hands left me with no remorse and doubt about my decision to try something new.
