A POPULAR music venue in Colchester will be hosting an afternoon of celebration in honour of Navratri.
A family-friendly interactive event full of lively beats, colourful celebrations and amazing dances will be held on Sunday at Colchester Arts Centre.
Live music by the Satwara Community group will span the afternoon and Gujarati folk dance workshops by Jaymini's Bollywood dance group will be performed.
Navratri is a Hindu tradition which lasts nine days and nine nights to celebrate the Mother Goddess Durga and thank her for killing Mahishasura, an evil demon.
Doors open at 1pm and close at 5pm.
Admission is free but tickets must be booked in advance.
