A COLCHESTER woman has been announced as a finalist in a global competition for Formula 1.
Lindsay Palmer has reached the final stages of a fan-designed livery competition organised by Oracle Red Bull Racing.
The competition encourages fans to ‘Make Their Mark’ and see their design on the RB19 under the bright lights of the Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit.
Lindsay has advanced to the top ten following thousands of entries from around the globe.
Her purple and yellow design features poker chips referenced the gambling capital culture.
It also spotlighted the initials of Mexican driver Sergio Perez, and Dutch driver and double world champion, Max Verstappen.
Lindsay said: “My design was heavily inspired by the bright lights and vibrant atmosphere of Las Vegas.
"I wanted to capture the energy and excitement of the city in a bold and eye-catching way that would look good on track."
She added: "When I found out I had made the top ten it was a crazy moment, I never could have imagined that my design would be selected amongst thousands of entries - it's still surreal to me.”
The winner’s prize is the ultimate fan experience package.
They receive exclusive VIP access to the paddock and a garage tour for Free Practice 1.
Results of the competition will be announced ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix due to hit the strip on November 16-18.
