An internationally renowned artist is inviting residents to a talk and workshop at Colchester Castle.
Will Teather is giving a talk about his latest work, The Colchester Globes, sharing its origins and answering questions about the creative process and techniques.
After the talk, he will lead a 90-minute workshop on 360-degree perspective.
Having mastered the methods himself, he will explain how to depict space used within realist drawing, including a 360-degree drawing of a room.
Participants are asked to bring their own pencils and a pad of paper for the workshop.
Mr Teather’s paintings have been exhibited on the international art stage, including the Bridgehampton Museum and RJD Gallery in New York and Artwars at Red Dot Miami.
His works were on display at Colchester Castle but were vandalised by two teenagers, leaving the artist “furious”.
He said: “I worked on this project for six months and I’m very upset about it.
“It is the first time a piece of my work has been vandalised and it is a great shame because I made sure it was publicly accessible to all.”
Anyone interested in the event on October 14 at 2pm can book their tickets by calling Colchester Museum at 01206 282939.
