Colchester’s latest development, Northern Gateway, is preparing to welcome an eatery that specialises in Italian dishes.
The Taste of Italy offers authentic Italian food with freshly made dough on the site alongside locally sourced vegetables and quality produce.
The venue has another successful branch in Chelmsford and is now coming to the new leisure park, expanding the vast range of places to eat in the city north and south of Junction 28 of the A12.
The dough used for the pizza is proved for at least 48 hours to offer the best taste.
On the menu are all the classics you would expect from an authentic Italian restaurant, including a range of pizza dishes, pasta, calzones and salads.
Dessert fans will also get their money’s worth with classics like tiramisu and panna cotta, but also more unusual ones like a Nutella pizza or calzone with fruits.
The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list to find the perfect pairing for any dish from the menu.
In 2022 the restaurant won Best Independent Pizza Restaurant in the UK at the Papa Industry Awards and is nominated as a finalist again this year.
The opening date for the Northern Gateway location is yet to be announced.

Colchester’s £70 million Northern Gateway development is being built on the fringe of the city at junction 28 of the A12.
American fast-food franchise Wendy’s became the first business to open its doors at the site last month, soon followed by Greggs.
And now Turnstone Estates has announced the signing of five new restaurants to the line-up of operators at the ten acre leisure park, which is under construction.
Agreement for leases have been signed with Mexican restaurant El Guaca, dessert seller Kaspa’s and buffet company Nines.
Slim Chickens and Italian food specialist Taste of Italy have also been added to the mouthwatering line-up.
