A MAN had to be rescued when his car went through the front of a house in Colchester.
The man's car went through the front of a house in Duncan Road, Colchester yesterday afternoon.
The emergency services were called at about 3.21pm. Fire crews from Colchester, Coggeshall and an Urban Search and Rescue unit were in attendance to help the man.
In order to free the man from the car, firefighters removed the rear seat of the car so they could carry the man on a stretcher.
The man was conscious and breathing throughout the incident and was left in the care of the Ambulance Service at 4.16pm.
A photograph of the incident shows a member of the fire service in the boot of the red car as paramedics wait to stabilise the man on a stretcher.
The fire service has been praised for their work to free the man safely.
Station Manager Ryan Ainger said: "Crews did a professional job in stabilising the vehicle and removing the man safely.
"Our Urban Search and Rescue team also carried out a structural assessment of the property."
