FORMER Colchester United defender Junior Tchamadeu has been called up to the Cameroon squad for their forthcoming World Cup Group D qualifiers against Mauritius and Libya.

The 19-year-old, who left the U's on transfer deadline day to join Championship side Stoke City, has been named in the Indomitable Lions squad for the first time.

Tchamadeu is part of a 24-man squad managed by former Liverpool and West Ham United defender Rigobert Song, which will meet up on Sunday ahead of their two qualifiers.

The Cameroon squad also includes the likes of Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana and former Spurs duo Georges Kevin Nkoudou and Clinton Njie.

Cameroon will host Mauritius on November 17 in Douala before travelling to Tunisia to take on Libya, on November 21.

Tchamadeu left Colchester on deadline day to join Stoke on a four-year deal, for an undisclosed fee.

He made nearly 100 league and cup appearances for the U's, after making his senior debut for the club in December, 2020.

Tchamadeu has made four first-team appearances for Stoke in the Championship, so far.
