A popular venue in Colchester is hosting a festive dinner and wine-tasting event ahead of the Christmas season.
Colchester’s Firstsite is inviting guests to enjoy their Winter Wines and Festive Feast event at the end of November.
The special wine-tasting event will introduce guests to alternative wines, which are served alongside a Christmas-inspired dinner.
Attendees will receive a glass of fizz on arrival with homemade bread and dips, followed by a creative take on a traditional holiday dinner prepared by Firstsite’s head chef.
The dinner includes smoked salmon, or a vegan carrot 'loz' alternative, as a starter, followed by the main course of turkey shawarma or cauliflower shawarma with potatoes and vegetables, and a walnut baklava filo pie.
Each course is accompanied by a glass of wine exclusively paired by wine specialist Simon Gotelee from Mr Wheeler Wines.
He will talk guests through the meals and introduce them to alternative wines people might not have heard of.
Tickets for the festive activity are available online for £70, offering a chance to get inspiration for your own festive dinner.
The three-hour event will take place on November 25 at Firstsite in Lewis Gardens, Colchester.
