COLCHESTER United pair Owen Goodman and Joe Taylor have been called up for international duty.

Goodman has been placed on standby for the Young Lions under-20s. ahead of their next Men’s Euro Elite matches.

The Crystal Palace goalkeeper, who is on loan at the U's, is on standby for the Young Lions games against both Germany and Italy, later this month.

Goodman was in the last England under-20 squad for the games against Romania and Portugal.

The 20-year-old, who has made 17 league and cup appearances for the U's since joining them this summer, also participated in an England under-20 training camp at St George’s Park, in September.

Meanwhile, Colchester striker Joe Taylor has been selected for Wales under-21s for their two Euro under-21 qualifiers.

Taylor, who is on loan at Colchester from Premier League side Luton Town, has already played twice for Wales under-21s. 

He will be aiming to add to those appearances when they host Iceland and Denmark at Newport County’s Rodney Parade, later this month.

Taylor has been in fine form for the U's this season.

He is currently the U's top scorer, having hit the net eight times in 18 league and cup appearances for the club.
