Cambridgeshire based Inspirations School of Performing Arts is having its annual Christmas Performance. On 2nd December at Cambourne Village College, talented performers of all ages will be demonstrating their skills across different dance styles and through different types of music. With groups ranging from toddlers all the way up to pensioners, Inspirations provides classes for anybody who wants to learn how to dance.
Founded in 2013, this woman run business owned by Miss Tanya Gray, has grown phenomenally, covering competition level, after school clubs, and senior classes. Alongside this, Miss Tanya's company also offers dance teacher training and wedding dances.
The theme of the show is the Elements of Nature, and some advanced groups starring in the Christmas show include the senior ballet and senior street dance classes. According to Miss Natalie, who is the instructor for the senior ballet troupe, seven dancers will perform to Walking in the Air from The Snowman. They will be joined at the start by a small group of musical theatre dancers.
Another Inspirations instructor, Miss Emma, who leads the Saturday advanced acro and tap classes said “The acro music is very strong and [has] a lot of beats to it, perfect for doing stunts and tricks.” Describing the tap routine, Miss Emma continued “[it] is an old Christmas song […] perfect for tap [as] you can get lots of beat's in.”
Miss Tanya doesn’t just teach young people, she also teaches pensioners chair dancing, and when asked who the oldest student was, she said “They’re in their nineties […] We have a lot of laughs together.”.
Altogether, it's going to be a truly amazing mix of talent, skill, and sparkle! Tickets are available on their website until the 13th November 2023. We wish them the very best in this fun filled show!
