WITH now just weeks to go, Christmas is edging ever closer.
As has come to be tradition, garden centres in and around Colchester have been building up to the big day by displaying some of their very best festive products.
Some of them have even held - or will soon be holding - special seasonal events to get families and customers of all ages truly in the spirit.
With that in mind, we've listed some of the must-visit garden centres for festive goods this Christmas.
Poplar Nurseries
Poplar Nurseries, in Coggeshall Road, is full of festive decorations, from trees to baubles to tinsel.
With a beautiful street scene display full of traditional decorations in red, green, burgundy, and gold, Poplar’s seasonal display aims to trigger treasured memories.
Alongside that, the centre also has bright and colourful lights in all shapes and sizes from little snowmen to big reindeer - Poplar has it all.

Blenheim Garden Centre
This family run garden centre is celebrating Christmas with four different themes of festive items.
The centre is stocking a range of items which follow the more traditional red and green Christmas themes, but it also boasts products with a unique pink and white theme, too.
The other two themes include a duo colour scheme of green and gold and another selection of silver and blue items.
Found in Bromley Road, Ardleigh, the garden centre is also full of the usual gardening and decorative delights.

Oliver's Plants
Boasting a hefty stock of festive items, there is also a Christmas market where local craftspeople will be selling an array of goods.
A late night shopping event will also be on December 1, when the centre will be open until 9pm.
The shopping centre even has a Christmas tree maze which is made of more than 1,500 trees and offers a small activity prize for children who complete it.

Perrywood Garden Centre
Another festively-decorated garden centre to visit is Perrywood, in Kelvedon Road.
This particular venue has an amazing series of displays made-up of decorations from previous eras.
From the 50s to the 00s, there are nostalgia-filled items for everyone to enjoy.
There is also a seasonal grotto where Father Christmas can be seen.
