A ROAD will be closing in Colchester for nearly a week.
Smallwood Road will shut from its junction with Paxman Avenue to its junction with Hedge Drive.
The closure is scheduled to commence on December 1 for five days.
It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Smallwood Road, John Kent Avenue, Iceni Way, Paxman Avenue and vice versa.
- Elsewhere in the city, a road is set for a short closure.
Enid Way is set to close from its junction with Bergholt Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on December 4 for just one day while pole installation works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Enid Way, Prior Way, Bergholt Road and vice versa.
- Two more smaller closures are coming to areas around Colchester on December 4.
Albion Street in Rowhedge will shut from a point approximately 110m west of its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled for three days and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pipe repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Taylors Road, Head Street, High Street and vice versa (with access only into Albion Street and Parkfield Street).
Elsewhere on the same date in Winvehoe, Elmstead Road will be shutting from its junction with Brightlingsea Road to its junction with Colchester Road.
The closure is once again scheduled for just three days.
It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Brightlingsea Road, Colchester Road and vice versa.
- Moving further into north Essex, Sladburys Lane in Clacton will be shutting.
The road will close from a point approximately 65m north of its junction with Holland Road for a distance of approximately 95m in a northerly direction.
It is scheduled to commence on December 4 for five days.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pipe repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Great Holland Common Road, Little Clacton Road, Clacton Road, Frinton Road, Frinton Road Roundabout, Holland Road and vice versa (with access only into Sladburys Lane).
- Two overnight closures are coming to areas of the Braintree district.
Firstly, on December 4, South Street in Braintree will shut from its junction with Notley Road to its junction with Railway Street.
The closure is scheduled to commence on December 4 for two nights from 7.30pm to 5am while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Rose Hill, Mill Hill, Millennium Way, Cressing Road Roundabout, Cressing Road, Galleys Corner Roundabout, A120, Pods Brook Road, Rayne Road, Pierfitte Way, High Street, St Michaels Road and vice versa.
One day later, on December 5, The Street in Hatfield Peverel will be closing from its junction with Station Road to its junction with Church Road.
The closure is scheduled for a slightly longer time of four nights, again from 7.30pm to 5am.
It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via The Street, Maldon Road, Church Road and vice versa.
