MOTORISTS are being told to expect delays after a tree fell onto a busy Colchester road resulting in congestion in both directions.
Colchester Road, near the Peldon Rose Inn, has become partially blocked by a tree.
The incident was first reported at 10.48am this morning by traffic control.
A spokesman for traffic control said: “The road is partially blocked and there is queuing traffic due to a fallen tree on the B1025 Colchester Road both ways near the Peldon Rose Inn.”
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service's spokesman commented on the incident.
They said: “Firefighters were called to help move a tree blocking Colchester Road in Peldon at 10:30am.
“Crews worked with staff on a nearby site using a hi-ab lorry to move the tree by 11am.”
