Residents in Colchester are being invited to join a free event to help tackle the cost of living crisis with the help of the community.
The All In Alliance groups were created by Eastlight Community Homes last year to give residents a way to address local challenges and enhance neighbourhoods and communities.
More than 300 residents have met up so far at the quarterly meet-ups to discuss and share experiences around the cost-of-living crisis and how it affects their neighbourhoods.
As part of the meetings, the attendees have agreed on how they will take action as a community to tackle the issues that matter most to them.
Following the feedback at previous events, the next event will focus on the cost-of-living crisis for Colchester residents.
Organisations like Trusted, Community 360 and the Greenstead Community Centre will attend as well to offer support and listen to residents’ experiences and suggestions.
Lisa Harper, Eastlight’s community engagement co-ordinator, said: “The Colchester All In Alliance is a great space for anyone eager to meet new people, discuss local challenges and explore ways to improve our city, for the benefit of everyone.
“Whether it’s the cost-of-living crisis or something else that’s impacting you or your family, we’d love to hear about your experiences and ideas for creating a healthier, happier community here in Greenstead and the wider city of Colchester. Plus, there’ll be festive nibbles and a free raffle – it’ll be a great evening and everybody’s welcome.”
The next meeting will take place at the Greenstead Social Club in Blackthorn Avenue, Colchester on December 5 between 6.30pm to 8pm.
