A RETAIL unit once home to an Argos store in Colchester will no longer be split to accommodate two businesses.
Planners had previously applied to Colchester Council for permission to split unit 8 at the Tollgate Centre into two smaller units.
Documents show the empty unit, was previously occupied by the retailer, would have become unit 8a and unit 8b.
New plans, however, have now been submitted to the council which include blue prints showing the site will remain as one unit.
Argos closed its popular city centre store in Long Wyre Street in October 2020 which was followed by the closure of its Tollgate store last year.
The business now operates from within the Sainsbury’s supermarket Western Approach, Stanway, which is just a few minutes away from its former Tollgate location.
