COLCHESTER United have been drawn away to West Ham United under-21s in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Round of 32 following tonight's draw.
The U's will take on the Hammers in the week commencing December 4 after the Southern Section draw was made live on Sky Sports News.
It will be a reunion for Will Greenidge and Jayden Fevrier, while U's boss Matty Etherington will also take on his old club.
Full details on where the tie will be played will be released in due course.
For the Round of 32 draw, clubs remain regionalised with each group winner being drawn at home to a second-placed club from a different qualifying group.
Colchester progressed to the knockout stages as group runners-up after they beat Peterborough United 1-0 at the JobServe Community Stadium, on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Colchester youngster Oscar Thorn has joined National League South promotion chasers Bath City on loan.
He follows in the footsteps of U's midfielder Noah Chilvers, who spent time on loan at Bath in the 2019-20 season.
Thorn joined Colchester in January after leaving Norwich City.
