AN ex-Blues boss has said he will seek to rebuild his career and life after he was found by police.
Ex-Southend United boss Danny Macklin, 42, went missing from Great Notley yesterday morning, which sparked a missing persons appeal from Essex Police.
It was believed he was travelling by foot but he was later found by Devon and Cornwall Police in Looe.
Macklin formerly worked as the managing director of AFC Wimbledon until September this year.
Prior to that, he worked as the Commercial Director for Southend United for two years until November 2017 and as a Commercial Director at Essex County Cricket Club from December 2008 to September 2015.
He has been open on social media about his journey to finding his next career step.
Last night, Danny shared that he was safe after being found by police before going into the sea in Cornwall.
Hundreds of people have shared their support and relief for him being found safe in emotional responses to his post
He said: “I have been found safely by Cornwall Police in Looe just prior to going into what I can assure you was cold sea water.
“Thank you for all the well wishes - I will seek the help I need and sorry for the terrible pain I have caused so many and then seek to rebuild my career and life.”
A spokesman For Essex Police said: “Danny Macklin, who was missing from Great Notley, has been found by colleagues with Devon and Cornwall Police.”
