AN annual festive event designed to honour the memories of lost loved ones is returning to Colchester.
Colchester Crematorium Chapel will be playing host to the Memorial Carol Service for 2023 on December 14.
The informal and friendly service will be led by Rev Peter Evans and Russell Gadsby and will include readings, poems and traditional carols, supported by organist Stephen Evans and soloist Graham Long.
Following the service, attendees can enjoy refreshments, generously provided by the Starlight Tea Room.
Colchester Council portfolio holder for communities Natalie Sommers said: “The Memorial Carol Service at Colchester Crematorium is a cherished tradition, bringing together our community in a spirit of remembrance and celebration.
“It's inspiring to witness the togetherness and support shared during this festive gathering.
“I encourage everyone to join us for a memorable afternoon filled with warmth, music, and reflection, as we honour our loved ones.”
The Crematorium Chapel, inaugurated in 1957, is situated within the Garden of Remembrance at Colchester Cemetery in Mersea Road.
Visitors are recommended to use the gate entrance near the mini-roundabout junction with Abbott’s Road and park in the Crematorium Car Park.
This year’s Memorial Carol Service will take place at 2pm.
