A COMEDIAN who wowed judges on a television talent competition has performed for the Royal Family is coming to a Colchester venue next year.
Malawian stand-up comic, Daliso Chaponda, is headlining Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, on May 21, 2024.
The funny man rose to prominence after making the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2017.
He has also written and starred in BBC Radio 4’s Citizen of Nowhere and performed at the Royal Variety Show.
The comic will now be bringing his Daliso Chaponda: Feed This Black Man Again UK tour to Colchester next year.
A spokesman for Daliso said: “In this brand-new show Daliso mulls over the wisdom of age.
“Wouldn't you love a chance to have your first relationship again?
“Be employed at your first job, but this time stand up to your boss?
“This show has the same themes as ‘Feed This Man’, but with brand new jokes that Daliso has re-written.”
Daliso has also spoke about his forthcoming new live show.
He said: ”What’s interesting about this show is that I look back on how I started, where I am and get to the bottom of why I love and need this.
Tickets cost £17.50 and doors open for the seated show at 7.30pm.
