A WELL-KNOWN Irish comedian and actor who is regularly seen on our television screens is set to return to Colchester for the first time in three years.
Ed Byrne, 51, will bring his 'Ed Byrne: Tragedy Plus Time' tour to Charter Hall, in Cowdray Avenue, on February 16.
The well-known comic has appeared in TV shows such as Father Ted, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and Have I Got News For You.
The name behind Ed's forthcoming stand-up show is attributed to American writer and humourist Mark Twain, whose famous quote is: "Humour is tragedy plus time".
During the show Ed will test that formula by delving into some of the most tragic moments of his life in the name of comedy.
The comedian has been praised by numerous publications and boasts a wicked sense of humour and charismatic presence, according to a previous review.
Ed has previously performed in Colchester twice with the most recent occasion being in November 2021 when he brought his 'If I'm Honest' show to the city.
Over the years, the funny-man has been known for his friendship with fellow comedian, Dara O'Briain.
Tickets cost £27.50 and doors open at 7.30pm.
The show is expected to end by 9.45pm.
