AN investigation has been launched after a “serious” crash on a busy road in Colchester.

Essex Police officers were called to Straight Road, Lexden, at about 5.30pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of a crash involving a car and a motorbike.

The road remained closed for several hours while officers carried out inquiries.

Officers investigating the crash have urged anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage to contact the force by calling 101 quoting incident 1082 of January 2.
